Invasion of Poland

Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. According to plan, the Soviet invasion followed on September 17. After mostly unsuccessful resistance, Poland forces surrendered just over a month later on October 6. The invasion ended with the Soviet Union and Germany dividing Poland between themselves.
